in 1985 (Coronation Jf, odie Smith The air was tense as Jan Brewer, Crucible Editor, walked behind the members of the Senior Coronation Court preparing to crown the 1985 King. She paused behind Jodie Smith and gently set the crown on his head. The crowd assembled at Convention Hall went wild. No wonder! Jodie, a friendly and outgoing person, is a favorite among students at G.H.S. His outstanding personality made him a great choice for the 1985 Coronation King. [odie is President of the Key Club, Vice- President of the National Honor Society, and is a Senior Notable. He, too, is involved in Hi-Y, Beta Club, Quiz Bowl, and football. Jodie Smith is a true representative of Gadsden High School. We are proud to have him serve as our Coronation King!

Q, ueen (Parole dain 1985 C, oronation When the judges chose the 1985 Coronation Queen, they picked a great person in Carole Cain. Carole, with her radiant smile and outstanding personality seems to make the day brighter for everyone she comes in contact with. She is active in many school clubs and activities. A member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Mu Alpha y Theta, Phi Omega Phi, and Quiz Bowl. Carol serves them all well. She is Beta Club f President, Senior Class Treasurer, ad Captain of the Cross Country Team. “I was totally surprised, says Carole on being chosen queen. It was the biggest thrill of my life.”
