1981 CRUCIBLE Gadsden High School Gadsden, Alabama Volume 55 TIGER TRACKS “The tracks you see are tiger tracks,” said the old man to the youth, “You won’t see them in Halifax, Manhantten, or Duluth,” “The only time that you will see this kind of tracks again, is if you are in India, and find a tiger den.” “There has to be another place,” the young man said in spite. “I’ve tried to find them everywhere, and searched the world at night.” “Please don’t contradict me,” the man said, looking to the sky, “Yet I think that there is another place, and that place is Gadsden High.” Class of “82” TIGER TABLES Tiger Tracks.............................4 Tiger Tales.............................20 Tiger Triumphs..........................72 Tiger Tenants...........................90 Tiger Tamers...........................168 Tiger Teams............................188 Tiger Tribes...........................222 Tiger Tails ...........................256 Tiger Traders..........................274 Tiger Tables...........................306 SENIOR TRACKS When we entered GHS as Freshmen in 1977, we walked fearfully with a light tread lest our tracks should offend someone. As we gained confidence and grew during our Sophomore and Junior years, our tracks began to make lasting imprints in the school. We worked, studied, learned and grew in stature and wis- dom. As we trod through our Senior year, our tracks became hesitant again as we realized there are so many trails and so many directions that we may take as we leave Gadsden High School and take our walk in the big wide world. We began by selling $4200 in ads for the football programs dur- ing the summer. When fall came, there were football games, spirit- getters, and dances. The Tiger Talk was compiled and sold. Homecom- ing 1981, the Christmas Dance, and Mafia Day were all very successful. We held class officers elections, helped pay for the remodeling of the boys’ restrooms, and hosted a lead- ership workshop for high schools in north and central Alabama. The S.C.A. was also responsible for Stunt Night and Twirp Week, and both were terrific. This year’s S.C.A. has enjoyed working for Gadsden High and are very proud of their school.
