Mr. Barr has assisted us through many perplexing situations. He has always been a steady, guiding force that was always there when we sought assistance or counseltation. In the years ahead the class of 1967 will have to rely upon their own judgement, but they will long re- member the high standards and ideals set forth to them by their Principal. v i , YW .QW ,. "' x r x 4 i I 1 5 .Q 4 MR. HALSTED MR. CHAFFIN MR. BELLINGER MR. CHICK MR, REDMAN MR. GARNER MR. WISEMAN The Board of Education would like to take this opportunity to tell each of you that we have some of the finest young people in our communities as there are in the country. We hope along with your education that you use your common sense which we sometimes all overlook. Also, we think that if a person would place himself in another person's position, that we might find that there are two sides to every problem. Sometimes we enlarge the problem out of proportion. Congratulations to the Class of 1967, and Best Wishes to all. Sincerely, School Board MR, WAINO PIHL Superintendent I wish to extend to the seniors, who will soon be standing at an important cross-road of life, my very best wishes for a full and fruitful life. The important thing is not so much where you stand, as in what direc- tion you are moving. Choose well and carefully the path you take for too often there is no turning back. I would urge the rest of the student body to make, and get, the most out of their remaining time at Fulton High School, both in academic and extra- curricular endeavors, for most of you will too soon be standing where the seniors now stand. Ask of your- selves: "How will I stand?" Sincerely, 'AN -'S r t The members of the Senior Class of '67 are faced with a multitude of decisions to be made before gradua- tion. Whether to continue their education, enlist in the armed forces, or choose a vocation for their life's work. Success is not achieved without a great deal of effort. To the underclassmates, Ioffer this suggestion. Look forward to the future. Continue to strive to perfect your talents so that you will be ready to meet the various challenges which will confront you. The faculty of the Fulton High School are willing to assist you to be better prepared for tomorrow. Continue to strive towards your ultimate goal. Sincerely, ,. n coma M .Q f Principal MR. ATHLETICS Varsity Football - Tri-Central Champs w- z V Mr, Schultheis with the Tri-Central Champs' trophy. This is his last year as coach for the Pirates. Randy VanSickle: Fulton's and conference's CO-CAPTAINS: Terry Proko, HB5 Denny most valuable, All-State Class C Team Upton, Guard After the loss of our first game to Fowler, some changes took place in Fulton's line-up, Positions were changed and players were shuffled, This seemed to effect the players in a good way for they went on to win their next three games. After a loss to Portland, the boys were more determined than ever to play good ball. They won the next five games and the Tri- Central Championship. The Pirates scored 162 points to their opponents 52 throughout the season. Those who made the AllrConference team this year were: D. Upton, D. Eyer, C. Hagen- baugh, R. Van Sickle, J. Gray, and E. Setterington. On honorable mention were: R. Louden- beck, R, Troub, G. Daniels, T, Proko, G. Daniels, D, Zamarron. Randy VanSickle, Fulton 's most valuable player and also the most valuable player in the league, was chosen as part of the All-State Class C football team, Varsity Basketball ROW 1. D. Barret, B. The Fulton Pirates' basketball team did, considerably better this year than last, This year the Pirates ,ended up in a five way tie for second place. The Pirates had their chance the last game of the year to pull second place alone. The boys had some difficulties getting started in this game, and thereforeg were never in the game, The home floor was the advantage this year for every team in the conference. Good proof of this was in the Pirates' record at home. They only lost two at home while winning only one away from home during the season. Coach Schafer is looking forward to an even better year next season, with four of the five starters returning. The teams in this year's conference were Fulton, Portland, Central Montcalm, Lakeview, Saranac, Montabella, and Carson City-Crystal. Portland ended up in first place, Saranac in last place, and all the rest of the teams were tied for second with a 6-6 record. E Greg DeMott was chosen Honorary Captain of the year and also captain for the tour- naments. The Paine Most Valuable Player Award this year went to Greg DeMott, Varsity Baseball ROW L: T. Zamarron, C, Hagenbaugh, C Poling Coach, M, Wright, G, Daniels, T, Cole The outlook for Fulton Baseball for 1967 should be exceptionally good. There will be seven returning starters from last year's squad plus some good Junior Varsity material coming up. One outfield and lst base positions need to be replaced. Also the pitching staff is returning and with another year's experience behind them should do real well. We really expect to have a good season, 4 1 A 5 Ball Flaw! The Student Council is an organization which works in co- operation with MI. Barr 'to represent the student body. We on the Student Council feel that the student body is the most important part of the school system and should be represented as such. We are trying to make the Student Council a more effective organization which in turn will better represent the student body. We appreciate all suggestions and hope that these suggestions will make the Student Council more effective. Our funds are obtained through the activity fee that the students pay, and additional funds are raised by the ice cream sales during lunch hour and at home basketball games. We try to spend these funds in the best interest of the school. Each year we have sponsored and paid for two girls and two boys to attend Wolverine Girls' State and Wolverine Boys' State, respectively. We also sponsor the school newspaper and the various school assemblies. Other projects include the Homecoming Dance and Christmas decorations. This year we have purchased a horn for the scoreboard on the new football field, and four new rotating lights for dances and other school functions. I would like to stress the fact that the only way the Student Council can be an effective organiza- tion is through the support of the student body. Sincerely, Sfoge Bond ,ff .
