HHSHUHHLL The call for basketball candidates was answer- ed by forty-tour boys. and about twenty of these were sophomores and freshmen with no previous experience. However, among the other twenty boys were lettermen Dick Troub, Wendell Somers, lack Pomeroy, Maynard Cole, and Ed Divish from the 194445 team. Other boys with experience were Don Acker, Ioe Halmo, Stuart Snider, Iohn Kamin- ski, and' Harry Babcock. The lettennen named above started the early season games, but the im- proved playing of Don Acker soon gave him first call on the center job. As the season closed, Dick Troub, Stuart Snider, and Maynard Cole were the guards: Ed Divish, lack Pomeroy, and Wendell Somers, the forwards, with Acker at center. While winning ten ot the fifteen regular season games. the Pirates could score only 462 points for less than 31 points per game. Games were lost to Alma. Shepherd 623, Ithaca, and Breckenridge.
