The I9,52 Student Publication of FULLERTON UNION HIGH SCHOOL FULLERTON, I CALIFORNIA , I . KN Ffergg -,L Our song of life begins as a soft gentle lullaby. Slowly and rhythmically it increases in melody and sweetness as we make new acquaintances and share the experiences of school days. The months and years slip by and suddenly we find ourselves in the midst of our high school days andthe grand composition Life. At Fullerton Union High School our song reaches notes of happiness in the joyous chords of Pow Wow, Homecoming, Christmas formal, football, and our Indian Traditions. Then comes the grand finale of our high school days - Graduation. But graduation is only the end of one measure and the beginning of a new different key for many. We may find ourselves caught in the rhythm of marching feet or sailing on the seven seas, but wherever we may go we will always cherish the hope that our life may be as happy as it was at Fullerton Union School where we learned that Life is a Song. f'5'fN'2 4' Fog U sr 9 SCHUUI SONG Mfiiilifgg I-'JH QE Q w 5 FU ERTON j J AND WE THY C Q3 BRA E Y BARE B THY Us diff? Mix in a little Fight Song forthe athletes, Drum beats for the band, Solitaire for the lone wolves and a chorus of Onward Christian Soldiers for the men who will defend us. Sound Off with a reminder from our cher- ished Alma Mater, "Oh, F.H.S., thy name we love And ever staunch and true you'll find us We'll stand by thee through all eternity The red and white so true." As our voices blend in the song of life, may our tempo be brisk, our pitch true, and our spirit cheerful and willing. PIB Nfl fi-I' In Without a Song, William Rose and Edward Eliscu have the singer use these words: "I'll get along as long as a song is strong in my soul". Throughout man's history, a song has always been an accepted way of expressing emotions and aspirations. The songs which reflect our inmost feelings are impor- tant. Thus the theme of the 'I952 Annual, "Life is a Song", takes on new significance. My wish for each of you is that your life songs be those of hope, courage, faith and service, made richer and more meaningful because of your experiences here at Fullerton Union High School. - .LLlf"CZ 1--l TO PB IP I. They worked and slaved for many days Their hopes to satisfy- The completion of the Annual Pleiades means a rush by the staff to meet the final deadlines. This has been almost a ten-month task for photographers, division editors and the assistants. The staff has worked long hours and deserves a great deal of credit. I want to thank Mr. Vorkink, our advisor, whose patience and good nature kept us singing when the going was rough. My sincere thanks go to Mr. Kenneth C. Stevener of the California Year- book Guild for his invaluable help in getting the Pleiades published . . . to Mr. Bill Retchin of the S. K. Smith Co. for the cover . . . and to Morneau Typographers for their excellent typesetting. Many thanks to Mrs. Foulger and her advanced art class for their help with the division pages, and most of all, thanks to you, the Indians of Fullerton High, who have co-operated to make the '52 Pleiades possible. Oh, Thank You so Much! fir? IA 8.-v i PX-v Q I r I ' K. r ! q ' I 4 X l I ! , I f
