F.H.S. Concert Band Wins Superior Highlight of the F.H.S. Concert Band year was the Superior rating won at con- test for sight reading. Ful- lerton was the only school at contest to receive such a rating. The band also won an excellent rating for per- formance under the direction of Mr. Gary Yost. The marching group kept busy during the football season, producing fine half time en- tertainment at home games. The marching band also at- tended the Shrine Bowl] Pa- rade in Lincoln in August and the Hastings College Melody Round-up in Octo- ber. Instrumental Groups Rank High Members of the Superior-rated Clarinet Trio were l, to r, Senior Janeene Davis, and Juniors Betty Grzywa and Sandy Kramer, The Excellent-rated Trombone Quartette was composed of 1, to r. Senior Linda Whitney, Freshman Connie Penne, Junior Mary Channer, and Senior Sandi Nash, er J F.H.S. contest instrumental groups ranked high in 1970, earning one superior and four excellent ratings. The Clarinet Trio composed of Juniors Sandy Kramer and Betty Grzwya and Senior Janeene Davis earned the Superior rating, at. the contest held in Fullerton April 24-25. The Brass Sextette and Trombone Quartette earned Excellent ratings, as did the Trumpet Trio and French Horn Quartette. In addition to contest participation, each group performed publically at the Pre-Contest Band Con- cert held April 20. The Trumpet Trio was composed of 1, to r, Senior Diane Shotkoske, Sophomore Mark Gloor, and Freshman Paula Christensen.
