The 1969-70 Varsity Basketball squad included 1, to r. Ksiazek, T, Imus, T, Roewert, R, Zaruba, T, Jensen, R, Nesbitt, D, Fitzgerald, D, Larson, D, Gilson, R, Oakley, Kneeling, 1, to r. R, Thomas, student manager, Mr. Dean M. Hunzeker, T, Horacek, J, Thomas, G, Palmer, R, Petricek, Head Coach, and T, Chlopek, student manager, Cagers Win District Crown The 1969-70 Warrior basketballers staged a tremendous finish, coming within one game of a State Tournament berth, After being counted out by many with a 6-11 won-lost record, the Warriors entered District play by upsetting seeded Genoa, 56-53, F.H.S. then downed two other favored entires, Cedar Rapids and Lindsay Holy Family, to gain the District Championship, It was Fullerton's first District title in five years.
