Life Has Variety In ’70 Life in the hallways might include some after-school latest sessions with your best friend, as demonstrated by Sopho- mores Bev Cunningham and Pam Wetovick, or F.H,S, life might include being all wet once in awhile such as Senior Pat Wagner was (below right) at the Sadie Hawkins festivities, F.H.S, life included such social highlights as dancing to the pulsating sounds of a rock group, Then there's always the pre-season bonfire where Senior gridmen such as Scott Sprague, Mark Hunzeker, Ed Dubas, and George Palmer await their chance to roast the Loup City dummy,

The naming of six seniors to National Honor Society standing highlighted the An- nual Honors Night held May 13. A large crowd was on hand for the event. Dan- forth Foundation awards went to Judy Robertson and Mark Hunzeker for out- standing leadership and scholarship. Mark was also awarded the Bausch and Lomb Award for outstanding achievement in sci- ence. Judy was presented the Senior Girls Citizenship award, and Tim Roewert was awarded the Boys Citizenship Award. Roe- wert was also named the American Legion Athlete of the Year. Senior Mark Hunzeker is presented the Bausch and Lomb Science Award by Mrs, Jane Swartz. LOWER RIGHT: The 1970 American Legion Athlete of the Year Award went to one of F,H,S,'s all- time athletic greats, Senior Tim Roe- wert, Tim excelled in all sports during his high school career, The highlight of the Honors Night Con- vocation was the tapping of these six seniors into the National Honor Society. Art class exhibits were presented for the first time this year during the Honors Night Convocation. aa Featured Commencement speakers were 1, to r, Mark Hunzeker, Diane Hebda, Tim Horacek, and Cyndy Wetovick, Commencement Draws Huge Crowd A huge crowd turned out for Com- mencement 1970 on May 25. Forty-eight members of the 1970 class were presented diplomas by Board of Education members Mr. Bob Palmer and Mr. Steve Dubas, Special music was presented by the Senior Girls Octette and Susan Schweitz. Awards and scholarships were presented by Super- intendent Willard Hunzeker and Principal Max Irvin. After the recessional, a large group of well-wishers congratulated the Class of '70 in the reception line, Seniors are congratulated in the long reception line.
