“Suicides” Highlight Sadie Hawkins Moonshine jugs, clotheslines, out- houses, and cornstalks set the mood for the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance on Novem- ber 26. The Student Council project was held in the school cafeteria utility room, Games such as apple-bobbing, orange- passing highlighted the evening along with dancing and mock weddings. Refreshments were served, featuring the suicide drink which was a combination of every imagin- able soft drink. A costume contest was held during the latter part of the dance, Best costume awards were given to Linda Whitney, Pat Wagner, Rod Supencheck, and Bob Oakley. Judges for the contest were Mr, and Mrs, Kula, Mr, Camp, and Mr, Metcalf, Beth Bard and gorgeous Bob (Roberta) Oakley seem to be the picture of delight as they sign their mock wedding license, Many couples de- cided it was time to get hitched during the festivities. Student Council members Mark Gloor, Dee Wondercheck, Judy Robertson, and Glenda Schwensen, mix a large as- sortment of drinks together in the ole kettle” to make the suicide, The drink proved to be a success, as two kettles were consumed before the evening was through, All sorts of weird costumes were apparent as couples danced,

F-Club President George Palmer crowns Senior Jane Morgan as the 1970 Basketball Queen, Looking on are Es- cort Mark Hunzeker and candidate and escort, Janeene Davis and Tim Horacek, Senior Jane Morgan was crowned the F.H.S. Basketball Queen for 1970 at the annual Basketball Dance held March 7, Jane was chosen from a field of senior candi- dates that included Janeene Davis, Sandi Nash, Patti Mann, Cyndy Wetovick, and Linda Whitney, The F-Club, sponsors of the event, presented Jane with the traditional crown and bouquet of roses, The dance, which was well-attended, featured the music of The Blue Lites, The event climaxed a successful cage sea- son, in which the Warriors took District honors, Jane Morgan, 1970 Basketball Queen, is shown above with her escort, Mark Hunzeker, BELOW: F.H.S, students and guests dance to the sounds ofthe Blue Lites at the annual Basketball Dance,

Judy Robertson and Ed Dubas were crowned Sweetheart and Beau at the an- nual F,F,A,-F.H.A, Dance held February 14, Judy, Ed, Are Sweetheart And Beau A typical Valentine's Day setting was evident in the high school auditorium, as Judy Robertson and Ed Dubas were crowned Sweetheart and Beau of the F.F.A.-F.H.A. Dance, A large crowd turned out to view the festivities and dance to the music of Omaha's Blue Lites' ' group, All decora- tions were the traditional red and white, In addition to Judy, other candidates were Janeene Davis, Kathy McCray, Sue Schweitz, and Lorraine Zaruba, Beau candidates in addition to Ed were Terry Imus, Ken Pro- soski, Paul Wozny, and Allan Zumbrunn, Mrs, Irene Kula, F.H.A. sponsor, and Mr, Harold Dissmeyer, F.F.A. advisor, were faculty sponsors of the affair. Couples dance in the romantic Valentine's Day atmosphere, Dorene Hebda, Wendel Potter, Connie Frame, and Steve Nelson enjoy refreshments while visiting during a break of the dance.
