The F.H.S. Cheerlea.ders, varsity and reserve, were chosen by a board comprised of faculty members ap- pointed by the administration, Pep Club sponsor and president, coaches and F- Club president, the high school princi- pal and Treva Baker, head cheerlead- er. These girls were selected on their ability to lead yells and project an over-all feeling of enthusiasm to the student body. The same scholastic standards apply to the cheerleaders as apply to those participants in athletics. This year selections made by the board resulted in one of the finest cheer- leading squads in past years. Ability alone did not determine their success but was coupled with strenuous practice sessions and a great deal of original- ity which produced a number of new yells, all of which was undertaken in their own time. The varsity cheerleaders for'o2-63 are Lynda Lucy, Beverly Knowles, Lynda Watters, Treva Baker, and Janene Boardman. Judy Schweitz, Karen Nelson, Sally Zaruba, and Lyla Harris are the reserve cheerleaders.
