Warrior football hopes were given a setback this year by some of the more powerful Class B clubs in the state. The Warriors started the season against the well-balanced and powerful Loup City clan who showed their strength in a convincing victory. The next eleven to meet on the Warrior turf were from Schuyler. In this game the home tribe was dumped into a scoreless game. The Warriors came back the next week to give the Central City Bison a close game with the Bison winning in the last quarter 14-13. Genoa fell to the Warriors 7-6 in a close spir- ited game for the Warriors' only vic- tory. The Warriors found a rough road to travel against the powerful Aurora club. In this game Butch I-loracek picked up a fumble and rambled 92 yards to pay dirt. John Wragge scored on a 78 yard run on the first play of the game, and Don Johnson scored on a 34 yard pass interception. Ord left the Warriors with a 20-6 defeat along with Seward by the same score. F.H.S.'s six points against Seward came on an 88 yard punt re- turn by Marc Baue. The games with Albion and David City found an injury riddled Warrior squad that just kept on giving their best.
