The Student Council's function is to represent the students through a governing body to create school spirit, and to create a better understanding between students and faculty members. This year Student Council got off to a big start by accomplishing all this and more. Homecoming was one of the most successful and best turnoutssFron- tier had in a long time. Students along with faculty members worked together for two months to make it a big success. The Homecoming celebrations started off with a "Spirit Week." The purpose of "Spirit Week" was to create school spirit, and to see which of the classes showed the most spirit. This was done by having competitions, such as which class had the longest spirit chain, by having a tug of war, and Iby a bananna eating contest which took place during the outdoor pep-assembly onFriday. Friday night was the beginning of the Homecoming weekend. Student Council decid- ed to kick-off the Homecoming celebrations with a bonfire Friday night. Students showed their enthusiasm and school spirit by making the bon-fire the best turn-out ever, even though the weather was bad. The year Student Council decided to get the community involved in school projects by having the Homecoming Float Parade ex- tend through Blasdell. Over 12 floats and Frontier's Marching Band participated in the parade with the theme celebrating the Bicentennial year. On Saturday night, October 18, the final Homecoming celebration took place when over 600 students attended the Victory dance featuring "Smak." ln-school meetings were planned to get the students involved, and student exhanges with area schools were conducted. As a Christmas project, money was donated to needy families by the Student Council, ingconjunction with area supermarkets combing turkey dinners for those less fortunate. The Blood- mobile also took place in October. The Student Body showed a great amount of genthusiasm to help the red cross by donating blood to the bloodmobile. As youcan see, this year's accomplishments were indictive of true spirit. This year's Student Council has been .very productive and we hope that much enthusiasm will be transmitted in the following years. A big "Thank You" goes to all who helped this year. i l 1. The Frontier Electronic Service Organization, more commonly known as FESO, has had its' share of mix-ups, bad equipment, and frustration. With a lot of patience and luck we have had many accomplishments. The members of FESO have often successfully run the lighting and sound for assemblies, plays, musicals and other school functions such as last years Bicentennial Play, "1776."
