SN Buczek greases the pully on one of the ship's eight forward booms, The First Division is one of two divisions assigned to the Deck Department. First Division is responsible for the forward part of the ship. lt paints and maintains the weath er decks, boat decks, the fore- castle, the passageways of Officers' Country, the passage ways running athwartship on the main deck, and the bos'n locker. The division also op- erates the booms. Running liberty launches and the Cap- tain's gig is the dual respon- sibility of both Deck Divisions.
