'JC lsew- JXNL' JOHN ALEXANDER COURTNEY, Jn Of science and logic he chatters As fine and as fast as he can Though I am no judge of such matters I' m sure he s a talented man Praed A young smiling face was seen on the campus twelve years ago It belonged to a petit representative of innocent child hood now known as John Courtney John today holds the distmctlon of being co-editor of the Quill and has been doing an excellent job on those very difficult editorials. His ambition is to be a writer of some merit. Robert Louis Stevenson serves as his guiding light. John's des- perate attempts in French class to sound like a native Frenchman sometimes fool his classmates but never Mr. Richardson. ln chemistry John is Mr. Swift's pride and joy. John was voted most likely bachelor in the senior class, but you never can tell. The impossible does hap- pen sometimes, and John, pipe and all, might be the first to get married. Co-Editor of Quill, 43 Assembly Committee, 45 Religious Life Committee, 45 J. V. Lacrosse, 3, 4. GEORGE PARKER Dlx, J R Comb down hrs hatr' Look' Look' It stands on end Shakespeare George Dlx, five feet six, blond, and ap- proximately a hundred pounds, IS never theless a big man ln the class of 4-8 He came to us from Poly ln hrs sophomore vear, but he has made such a deep lm- pression on us that he was voted the boy with the best personality. George- Mike to most of us and Cox to Miss Stockett-is often seen with a Pepsodent smile and Mary Ellen. Interested in ge- ology and the aforementioned person, he is heading for Hopkins next year. The lacrosse team has been blessed for two years with Mike's stickwork at the goal, and he was a most capable quarterback on this year's Quaker football squad. Crewcut and all, Mike is noted for his mathematical mind and his quick wit. Varsity Football, 3, 45 J. V.
