How do you spell Football at Friendly? P-R-I-D-E. It took more than muscle and ability to bring Friendly's AA team from a 4-6 record in '75 to a 9-1 record this year. The team, unde- feated until the third game of the sea- son, came one game away from going to the state play-offs. The Bowie 7-0 game, set Friendly back for the rest of the season. This year's 23 seniors and other varsity team members were part of Friendly's first night game. Their practice began back in August. Forty-seven boys attended Crawford's Football Camp, and eighty-two showed up for try-outs. The senior players have participated in a State Championship AB Team, an oncoming AA Team, and a close to un- defeated AA Team. Those who played Varsity all three years have had a 53-18-1 record. Friendlys Varsity was only scored upon for 24 points. Several senior players went on to All-County, All- Metro, and All-Suburban teams. The pride that Friendly football is noted for, always is the most essential part of their record.
