Our school's 50 year history began on the morning
of August 14. 1905. in the small town of Fruitvale.
California. Frank Stuart Rosseter called to order the
tive teachers and 130 students who made up Union
High School Number 4. Thus, began the history of
what is now known as Fremont High School.
Throughout his administration, Frank Rosseter was
the school's guiding light. His traits. his ideas. his
ambitions, all made their impression upon our school.
He was an idealist, easy going. good natured and
friendly towards all. He wrote the slogan. "Fremont.
the friendly school," which continues to hold true
today. He instilled into our school that intangible

thing called spirit. It is hard to explain exactly what
the Fremont spirit is, but it can be called a com-
bination oi pride, love, and loyalty for our school.
