The Seniors saw quite a bit of action as the team met some of the better teams in the area, both in scheduled games and in tournament play. The team proved that it could continue to give the Fans the championship ball they have been accustomed to seeing for the last three years by winning quite a few games. Because there were so many Seniors on this year's squad, the Juniors saw most of their action in the Junior Varsity games. In addition to the three Juniors who were on the Varsity team, there were three Juniors, six Sophomores, and six Freshmen on the J-V team. New this year was Freeburg's Invitational Holiday Tournament which was held December 26 through 28. Dupo won top honors in this tournament which is to be an annual event. Coach Herrin is to be congratulated on bringing the Midgets through another fine basketball season. Baseball Team This fall our Varsity baseball team, composed of seven Seniors, four Juniors, Five Sophomores, and Five Freshmen, won its Fourth consecutive Cahokia Conference title. The Midgets compiled an impressive record behind the steady pitching of Warren lttner, Ronnie Speiser, and Dick Boeving. The team's schedule For this spring is a stiff one. They are preparing for the tournament which will eventually lead to the State finals, we hope. l 'f fnff B A L L l U ' in' tt " " eo Cf QCD 0 O OO Q0 Q0 oO GO vu.. 51 nm Hovel ll-JL. if ua Paul McDonald Karl Lofhg mf- 4-o -1"jV'! ii- -I'-l Wcrren lffn QCP 57 ,fx '55 er Ron Fescher Ronme Speuser QD QD OCD Of? viiwti .ml GO GO GO QCD GO QCD x ,. , ,Rx X I' r ly I . . , - l ,W-N ' fx - sq A Xb . n.
