Despite the many handicaps the staff has worked under this year, we are proud
to have been able to present another edition of DRIFTWOOD. This year was unique in
that the DRIFTWOOD had no staff which started in September and finished in May, but'
rather during the school year there were several people who volunteered services at
various times throughout the year, as they were able. lt was the effort of these people
that made this presentation possible.
Special thanks go to the people who undertook a iob and stuck with it throughout
Danny Gardner, Sports Editor for the second consecutive year, did a splendid iob with
that section and was also a tremendous help with some of the editorial duties. Fred
Porter, Assistant Editor, joined the staff second semester and spent many long hours
filling in gaps left by others who did not finish their iobs. Barbara Boyd and the girls
from Collins Hail did a fabulous iob with the copy typing. Debbie Pagano and Maureen
Chrispan worked very hard with Hunter Publishing Company representative John Perry
in laying out the class sections and together they turned out a splendid job. As the
final deadline drew near, "Baby Huey" Bullock and several Phi Alpha Pi pledges came
to the rescue to read copy and type.
Photography in this year's book was the work of a handful of people who spent
many long hours in the college darkroom. D . J . Young, Glenn Headmann and Fred
Porter are to be thanked for the wonderful co-operation they gave in supplying
photographs for the deadlines.
There are many others who devoted time to this, our effort, and to each of
them goes the sincerest appreciation of the editor and staff. lt was their group effort
and co-operation which made the l966 DRIFTWOOD possible.
Wcgmest personal regards,
'K.,
