Planning a school's entire activities program
can certainly be a job, especially when this planning
involves coordinating all the schools social and sports
activities. This planning was the difficult job of Mr.
Jerry Dillon, the Activities and Athletic Director of
Franklin County Junior High School. Because of Mr.
Dillon's planning all the events at F.C.J.H.S. ran

Two dedicated counselors made up the guidance
department at FCJHS this year. This department
provided a place where students could turn for
advice and reassurance. Our counselors encouraged
our students to set their goals high and to attain'
Mr. Kermit Flora, our guidance director, helped
many students to chose courses and to plan careers
in which their full potential would be developed.
Mrs. Marjorie Jones helped many confused and
bewildered students who were entering FCJHS for
the first time to adjust to a new and strange envi-
ronment. Easily handling and problem that came up,
the guidance department as a unit, helping students
to help themselves.

MR. HGDGES AND
MR. FLGRA AID FACULTY
Assistant principal Bobby D. Hodges and Guid-
ance director Kermit Flora strived to promote a
sense of unity and purpose within the school. Although
their obligations often seemed numerous and burden-
some, they fulfilled each one with the accuracy that
was characteristic of the entire administration.
Mr. Hodges, earned a B.S. degree from Lynch-
burg College. As he pursued his educational prepa-
rations further, he received a M.Ed. degree from
the University of Virginia. In all areas of Mr.
Hodges duties, he- exhibited traits of sincerity and

B.A. Degree from Bridgewater College. Mr. Flora
also did additional graduate work and obtained a
B.D. from Bethany Theological Seminary. Mr. Smith
