Pointing out the stomach to Sopho- more boys, during a discussion of the Digestive System, is instructor Mr. Harbit. Health Classes Prepare Strong Minds Getting all sweaty , taking showers and everything that goes with it, become a familar routine to the Freshman and Sophomore gym classes . This year the P.E. classes participated in many activi- ties. The boys played basketball, volley- ball, dodge ball and also under went phys- ical fitness tests. The girls learned dances from various foreign countries, played scoot scoccer, volleyball and executed tumbling stunts. At F.H.S., students and teachers both agree that keeping physically fit is an important part of a good mental outlook. Closely watching as Mrs. Hover grades tests in Girl's Health, are Terry Edwards and Vicki Satterfield. 25

The techniques of Volleyball were again taught to the P.E. boys. Intra-class tourneys were also held to create extra interest. P.E. Classes Stress Fitness and Balance Native dances were enjoyed by Girl's P.E. Classes. Here the 3rd period Sophomores better their co-ordination, as they enjoy the dances. 24

Shop Classes Build Concession Stand Larry Norris and Mike Caldwell get first hand experi- ence cutting patterns with the band saw. They are also demonstrating that safety glasses are a 'must' in FHS shop classes. -- Knowing how to use the hands never comes a miss. F.H.S. students have an opportunity to learn practical arts in the many shop classes and art classes. One learns best by doing. Shop projects include simple wood projects, metals, motors, electricity, upholstering, molding, etc. Students in the art classes get practical experience making useful articles for the home. Using an acetylene torch in shop classes may come in handy for Tom Pruitsy when he receives his diploma and gets out in the world. Tom may have to weld the world back to- gether. A major project of Mr. Kratevil's advanced shop class was to plan and construct a building which is used as a concession stand at the summer baseball and fall foot- ball games. The 1968 Class donated the funds for The Eagles Nest.
