The goal of the Hi-Y Club is to create, maintain, and extend, through- out the home, school, and community, high standards of Christian character. The club has as its activities a Hi-Y basketball game and bowling league. The sixty members of the organ- ization were led this year by Doug Drake, president; Jerry Waltermire, vice-president; Dennis Beck, secre- tary; Dick McCord, treasurer; and Tom Hervey, historian. Mr. Billy Joe French is the faculty advisor for the club. [ 26 ]

Create, maintain, extend is sung, spoken and held high as the motto of the Frankton Tri-Hi-Y club. The purpose of the club is to encourage higher stan- dards and ideals of living for the girls, and encourage them to participate in projects for the betterment of their school and community. Meetings are conducted every other Tuesday during home room period to discuss business and interesting matters of 43 girls, such as dating, etiquette, dancing, parties, etc. Sportsmanship as Jennie Frazier, president, at a regular meeting. attitude. 99 takes care of current business The officers of the Junior club are: president, Elaine Heaton; vice-president, Marsha Rinker; secretary, Jane Clark; treasurer, Becky John; sgt. -at-arms, Linda Wells; chaplain, Joyce Neese. Officers of the Senior Tri-Hi-Y are: president, Hennie Frazier; vice-president, Nancy Whitcomb; secretary, Terri Alley; sgt.-at-arms, Leila Harper; chaplain, Pam Smith; historian, Susan Spoo. [ 27 ]
