She is a tireless worker for all school activities and is always willing to help everyone with his problems. Without a doubt, Mai is the biggest success of our class. " There ' s Burt again, trying to find one ot Mr. Rose ' s mistakes. Burt, with his blond hair, blue eyes, shy (or is it sly) grin makes him especially appealing to the opposite sex. Ambition: To graduate. Usually Found: With Susan. Pet Peeve: Cheerleaders. Strong and content, I travel the open road. Tall, dark, and hand some—Nello is our class tease. He can be counted on to liven up a dull period with one of his zany re¬ marks. Being the carefree type, worries never assail him—least of all homework. DOROTHY BALDYGA " Dottie " Virtue: Neatness. Ambition: To have a happy marriage. Usually Found: With Jimmy. Pet Peeve: Tardiness. Virtue is its own reward. Dotty is our three D girl—dignity, demeanor, and Drowne. Her neat appearance distinguished her in our class. Dotty never appears to get ruffled—another quality for which she is admired. What is the worth of anything but for the happiness it will bring. Whenever looking for vim, vigor, and vitality cail on Jean. Always full of pep and energy, wherever Jean is, fun is not far behind. Silence at the proper season is wisdom, and better than any speech. Judy has always been willing to help our class in any way she can and her aid has not gone unnoticed. Where seldom is heard a discouraging word. George ' s unusual sense of humor and happy-go-lucky manner have gained him many friends. " Ambition: To be a mechanic. Suppressed Desire: To go steady. Favorite Memory of High School Days: " Graduation. " From the crown of his head to the sole of his foot, he is all mirth. We can usually find Bobby practicing his would-be profession at Brown ' s Garage. As class clown, peppiest, and neatest, Bobby has upheld his amiable reputation. His antics bring gales of laugh¬ ter from an ever-present audience. MARIA G. BOURNAZOS “Angel " Virtue: Hair. Chief Hobby: Reading. Usually Found: Traveling. Pet Peeve: Hurrying. Gentle, and Merciful and Just. Maria is our Latin American import. If Maria is an example of our southern neighbors, then inter-American relations should cer¬ tainly improve. KENNETH MARK BROWN “Ken " “Brownie " Virtue: Quietness. Pet Peeve: Homework. Ambition: To be an engineer. Favorite Companion: Alley-Oop. Smooth runs the water where the brook is deep. A boy who is a true friend and willing helper is Ken. This year he has had the unique distinction of having captured three of our most envious superlatives: Most serious, quietest, and most punctual. Carol possesses one of the most valuable virtues in the world- understanding. We all know that Carol will find much happiness in her chosen profession—practical nursing. To be beautiful and to be calm is the ideal of nature. Andrea is both a willing and dependable worker. For his heart was in his work. We are sure he will fulfill his ambition to become a professional accountant. JAMES CHE LOTT I " Jimmy " Favorite Saying: " What am I doing here. " Chief Hobby: Working with figures. Suppressed Desire: To be filthy rich. Favorite Memory of High School Days: Math. Men of few words are the best men. He can be usually be found flashing a broad grin or amusing someone with his droll comments. ACTIVITIES: Baseball 1, 2, 3 , 4 ; Driver Ed. 4. JAQUELYN RUTH CHISM " Jackie " Favorite Saying: " In folly ripe, in reason rotten. " Ambition: To ap¬ preciate one second. Virtue: Pessimism. Prediction for the Future: Yellow emaciated ants. Far from the maddening crowd ' s ignoble strife. Jackie has an unusual outlook on life. She can be relied on for a stimulating, but oftentimes pessimistic opinion. DIANE CHARTIER " Di " Virtue: Neatness. Ambition: To be a success. Usually Found: With the kids. Her cheery smiles and sparkling eyes. Diane came to F. H. S. as a sophomore. Her saucy sense of humor and reserved congeniality have made her a pleasing class¬ mate. She will always be remembered as our " Holly Ball Queen. The great end of life is not knowledge, but action. A devilish wisecrack or teasing will always assure us that Jim ' s around. ACTIVITIES: Football 3, 4. EDITH FRANCES DeBAGGIS " Eydie " Virtue: Smile. Ambition: To become a secretary. Usually Found: With Leo. Suppressed desire: To go to Hawaii. The most useless day of all is that in which we have not laughed. Edith has proved herself to be a good athlete, particularly in softball and basketball. Prediction for the Future: Skirts will get shorter. Pet Peeve: Running to school with Marilyn. Life is a jest, all things show it. Where there ' s fun, there ' s Joyce. Besides being one of the ' ' hot tickets " of Franklin High School, she also has her serious side—well hidden as it is. Though she wishes to be a modern artist, we think she would do equally well as an artist ' s subject. LUCY BARBARA DeBAGGIS " Lu " Bouncing and bubbling over with giggles, it ' s Mary Jane. Who else could cause so much hilarity with her amusing antics. " Ambition: To become a nurse. Usually Found: Bombing around with Merry. Pet Peeve: Accidents in study. She was good as she was fair. Lucy ' s excellent scholastic achievements during all four years of high school have not kept her from leading an active social life. Lucy ' s friendly, likable manner makes her welcome in any crowd, and as a friend—well, you couldn ' t find a better one; just ask Merry. AAARY JANE DeGRAZIO " Janey " Virtue: Personality. Ambition: To be famous. Usually Found: Wrentham. Pet Peeve-. Bobby B. She is pretty to walk with ana ' witty to talk with and pleasant to think on. STEVEN C. DRAHEIM " Steve " Favorite Saying: " Well, I ' ll be! " Ambition: Veterinarian. Usually Found: Under a car. Pet Peeve: School. Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road. Steve is another of our handsome senior boys. His interests consist of: convertibles, dogs, and girls. Quite a combination! D ' ERRICO Lunzy Ambition: To sleep late every morning. Favorite Memory of High School Days: J. M. Stevens ' classes. Pet Peeve: My lousy car. Usually Found: Local billiard parlor. am the captain of my soul. By his performance on the gridiron, Lunzy has shown us that he deserves the title of co-captain which has been bestowed upon him for the past two years. JAMES H. DROWNE " Jim " Favorite Saying: " Y-know. " Suppressed Desire: To graduate. Am¬ bition: To buy Dot a T-bird. Usually Found: On McCarthy Street. I woke, and found that life was duty. Jimmy has done well by his four years at F.H.S. He takes work seriously but manages to not let it spoil his good-natured attitude. His favorite hobbies are dancing, driving, and Dottie. Those blue violets . . . her eyes. Dotty can usually be found staring in the direction of Marion High. Although she only joined us this year, she has gained many friends and has been active in numerous school activities. Dorothy looks forward to her chosen career in nursing. Favorite Companion: Shirley and Linda. Seriousness and merriment are near neighbors. Edie can be very serious or completely humorous; but what¬ ever her mood, her sincerity is apparent. Favorite Companion: A cue ball. Men of a few words are the best men. Humor, ambition, intelligence—this is John. As one of our all-round boys, his versatility extends to the gridiron ana the diamond. The girl who leads the drill team is none other than “Fido, " often seen giggling amid a group of girls (or boys). In the class¬ room Mary Ellen puts away her giggles and diligently concen¬ trates her efforts to the task of learning. Jimmy has an extraordinary artistic ability which often shows up on his notebooks. His famous sketch of the " devil " is the most often observed. PATRICIA A. GAGNON " Pat " Favorite Saying: " He ' s not too cute. " Ambition: U.S.A.F. Pet Peeve.- ' 51 black Ford. An ounce of wit is worth a pound of sorrow. Pat ' s individualistic nature expresses that the bright side of things are her side of things. She has always been known for her smart clothes. Franklin won one game and lost eleven in Hockamock competition. The three seniors who have seen plenty of action are Bob Nigro, Ed Mason, and Nello Luccini.
