With Co-Captains Bill Murphy and Chip Longley leading the spirited Panthers, they compiled a record of three wins, four losses, and two ties. We ended up the season on a good note by tying one and winning the last two, in¬ cluding the Thanksgiving Day game with Westwood, 18-8. I would like to congratulate the 1959 team for their hard work and effort. It would have been easy for them to give up after their slow start. But their spirit kept them going, enabling them to finish strong. Although the boys had a losing season, all the games were hard fought and good sportsmanship was never lacking. Several of the games were close, lost only by a few points. Under the leadership of our three seniors, Curt Madson, Mike Costello, and Tim Gifford. The team had a six win and eleven loss record for the year. Other members of the team include: Ralph De Lucia, Buddy Perkins, Gary Luccini, Jeff Beane, Bill Beaudette, Ray Melo, and A1 Taddeo. All of whom did a great job. Through an exchange program we were able to send our teacher, Miss Beane, to England. In exchange we received a teacher, Miss Bryden, from England. She has shown us many new and different things this year. We have profited vastly from this experience. We would like to express our thanks and ap¬ preciation for all she has done for us. We hope she will return to England with won¬ derful memories of our country. We, the Senior girls, wish to express our gratitude to Miss Beane for all the kindness and help she has given us in past years. We have missed her this year and we know that all the girls will be glad to have her back. 67 This season was a rough one for the Girls’ Basketball team. Though effort and spirit were never lacking, the team ended up with a three win and 14 loss record. The girls, always enthusiastic, never admit defeat. They just keep plugging as best they can.
