I . . 1 0 s ' S U - . 5 became dramat1c for a wh1le as we rehearsed and presented under the capable d1rect1on of M1ss Runmnger the .Tumor play ent1tled The Campbells Are Com1ng" Th1s pro ductlon was accla1med as one of the all t1me greats 1n the annuals of F H S presentat1ons After the play we turned our attentxon to the prom honor1ng the Class of 55 After much hard work, much of the cred1t for wh1ch goes to Mrs Kendall we f1nally had the gym 1n preparedness for our "Rose Fantasy" Everyone agreed that lt was exqu1s1te Then lt came' Our Sen1or year was upon us but to our sorrow 1twas necessarythat Mrs Kendall take a s1ck leave, and 1n her place we put Mr Newell A major change 1n class adm1n1strat1on also came about, w1th Bob Muse tak1ng over S1ngleton the treasury Mary Power, however rema1ned as secretary Our f1rst aCt1V1ty of the year was the presen tat1on of the Football Dance after the O11 C1ty game Bomta Young was chosen as Football Queen to re1gn over the ball Then came our Semor play Stardust under the d1rect1on of M1ss Runmnger F1nally Chr1stmas was upon us and we undertook our last major act1v1ty the annual Chr1stmas Card sale After Chr1st mas we focused our attent1on on the events wh1ch were to come at the end of our school days The Junlors have honored us Wlth a prorn we have had our banquet, our dance our class p1cn1c and fmally the commencement for wh1ch we have waxted so long But now the t1me has arr1ved and we are shghtly reluctant to go But we must make way for another Sen1or Class and so we move 1nto the world wh1ch awa1ts us Farewell Frankl1n' Respectfully subm1tted Tony Harry lf' . Mary Jane Foster The F.T.A, is an organization to which anyone may belong that is interestedin teaching. This group gets together and discusses the importance of teaching and, with Miss Ida Cardamone's help, they get an idea what teaching will be like. Some of the topics they dis- cussed this year were the famous teachers, advantages and dis- advantages of teaching, and the difference between high school and grade school teachers. T0 SAFE DRIVING Under the guidance of Mr. McE1hatten, many students learn to drive each year. In addition to the regular driving periods, special classes are held in the auditorium twice aweek where the students see movies on driving safety and discuss the problems of driving.
