ORI Caribbean - Weire gonel As we steam south, the weather gets warmer, and any spare time between General Quarters is spent in the newly found sun. Roosevelt Roads here we come. Our stay is short, but during the time we are there, we undergo some of the most strenuous and intensive exercises to which we have yet been subjected. Q t . We have come to Puerto Rico for our Operational Readiness Inspection. All the months of preparation and drills are put into practice. There is a thoroughness here. Even the history of the island has been compiled. El Fanatico and King Humane become very much alive for three big days. King Humane and El Fanatico become a reality as we of the c'BlueH forces defend the island against the i'0rangew aggression. 'h The 'cBlue Nose Newsw is often heard through the medium of both tele- vision and 1-MC to tell us of our progress. By the second day of ORI we are engaged in all-out war with 'iOrange.,' Finally ORI is over and we have a brief rest at anchor before beginning our transit to the Mediterranean.
