Friday there was a game at Tech between Howe and Frank- lin: Franklin won. Dec. 16-20: The Christmas season has started - Dec. Jan Jan .lan Jan Jan carolers singing in the halls and beauti- ful pictures painted on the windows of the biology room: they were painted by the art classes. Thursday the Artcraft Theatre entertained the students who had given food to the needy families. Rev- erend L. Paul Bowling gave a Christmas message during the week. 23: School was dismissed. A holiday tour- nament was held at the high school gym- nasium and Seymour won. That's all until next year. 2-3: The New Year started oft on a blue note: Lebanon beat Franklin in a basket- ball game. 6-10: The all-school play, "Senior Prom", was given this week and was very good. Franklin journeyed to Columbus but lost. 13-17: The cubs won from Greensburg, Tues- day. In the midst of the final exams, Mr. Jerome Kersch played some soothing classics in an assembly program. 18: Franklin played Washington and won. 20-24: The new semester started this morn- ing. A state trooper came Wednesday and showed some motion pictures on safety in traffic. The class or club spon- sored assembly program was given by the Tri-Hi-Y. Madison was beaten by the Grizzly Cubs Friday night. March 17-21: Several members of the Tri-Hi-Y and Hi-Y attended a district meeting at Center Grove, XVednesday. Franklin's Tri-Hi-Y officers had charge of the clos- ing ritual. Thursday the art classes went to Indianapolis for a "field trip". March 24-28: Shelbyville Won the state champ- ionship. All students above the age of fifteen had their "screen test" for tuber- culosis. Tuesday, Professor Kocher had tryouts for the Senior play, "Murder In Rehearsa1": Nancy Gant, Lois Neit- zel, Laurel Larson, Lala Rains, Ruth Featherngill, Zeffie Jaggers, Jack Sweig- art, Charles Staff, Gareth Matthews, James Corboy, Dick Minner, Max Jessup, Glen Coverdale got the parts, The junior class gave their program using a great per cent of senior talent. March 31: Saturday, the Tri-Hi-Y gave their formal dance. Reverend Baldus gave the first Holy Week service. April 1-4: Reverend Smith, Father Segar, Rever- end Parkhurst, and Reverend Stone talk- ed to the assembly during Holy Week. The year book was sent to press this week. April T-11: A big announcement - spring vacation. April 14-18. The first track meet was at Sey- mour, Friday. That night, the Hi-Y gave the Grizzly Cub Dance in honor of our athletes. Nancy Gant, Charlene Fertig, Sue Wilham, Phyllis Snyder, Clara June Ferguson, Charlotte Swiggett, Luan Lawson, and Joyce Stainbrook were the court. April 21-25: The last six weeks starts today. Monday there is a track meet at Colum- bus and one here with Martinsville, Fri- day. I Page Fifty April 28-30: Another track meet was held here with Shelbyville. May 1-2: This is really the last lap of school particularly for the seniors. The Latin Club presented their program which was very humorous. It was a satire on Ro- man life. May 5-9: Finally the freshmen got their chance to show their theatrical abilities by doing an assembly program. Two girls will rep- resent Franklin High School Wednes- day in Block's High School Summer Style Show. May 12-16: The track conference will be this Saturday at Rushville. Wednesday, the senior class play, MURDER IN REHEAR- SAL, was presented befqre a large group. This marked the final appearance in high school shows of many seniors who have been in several past productions. In concluding the assembly program con- test, the Hi-Y gave their program. May 19-23: The juniors are rushing about doing , all the million last minute things that pop up. Getting a plug in for the seniors, it might be said that the juniors will have to do some high-powered rushing to beat last year's prom. However, the idea for the 1947 prom sounds quite interesting. May 25: Baccalaureate was held at the Baptist Church. May 26-30: The senior day program brought on mixed feelings among the graduating class. Most were fairly happy in the joy of the moment, others - well. Commencement ended the 1947 class's career in high school. School's out. Good luck to the seniors.
