Catch That FALCON SPIRIT Behind all those rowdy football games and exciting basketball games, is a squad of six girls who spent long hours of hard practicing and many fundraisers, to cheer our Fantastic Falcons on to a Victorious season. Throughout the summer, these girls spent many hours in the hot sun preparing for a very full year ahead. Along with the practices at school, they also attended a cheerleading camp held at West Virginia Wesleyan College. At this camp the girls spent four days and four nights learning new chants and cheers to help promote the spirit at Frankfort High School. The cheerleaders were awarded two 2nd and 3rd place awards in competitions held nightly. Even though there were pulled muscles and shin splints, they were very proud of their achievements. After what seemed like a very short summer, it was back to school to show the other squads and the student body what they had learned. This task was accomplished slowly but surely starting with ‘“Meet the Squad” night. Between cheering the Football team on to a winning season, and doing the same for the Basketball team, they had a very busy schedule. After a long day of learning many cheers, time is taken to “‘goof-off’’ and rest before competition starts. Our cheerleaders show their spirit on and off the floor, as they are shown here on a break. A long week of camp has finally come to an end. Although there were a lot of good times and friends made here, all are ready to go home to their own beds and friends. 98

Michelle Bradley and Carmen Phares make The Jazz Band provides a different style of music for a basketball pep rally. hoagies for the band's hoagie sale. Almost everyone in school participates in one activity or another. Each organization is important in its own way. In the fall Miss Falcon is chosen and everyone looks forward to participating in their class play. The band is busy entering competitions and capturing everyone's at- tention during halftime. In the spring everyone is hoping to get a date for the big social event of the year, the prom. Different clubs give students a variety of activities to choose from.
