Although our record of wins and losses is far from being im- pressive, Melvin Hartman was an individual standout, who as | team captain, set competitive goals that should inspire Falcon — Harriers for years to come. His efforts earned him positions on the ALL PVC Cross Country Team and the All Area Cross Coun- try Team. Another encouraging aspect of the 1978 season was the number of dedicated freshmen who entered our program. If this trend can be continued in the future, the Falcons will come of age in Cross Country. This possibility is supported by another individ- ual standout, Butch Vanmeter, who earned positions on the All Freshmen PVC Cross Country Team and the All Area Freshmen Cross Country Team.
