Life is beautiful when it offers challenge beyond our grasp, while providing the support of good books, good friends, loved ones, and God. -Judith K. Corbin Born and raised in Maine, she graduated from Maine Central Institute. She received her B.A. at Eastern Nazarene College, Mass. She attended U.C.S.D. and San Diego State. She taught at the Polytechnic School in Pasadena before coming to Parker in 1973. After playing uhard-to-get for quite a while, she Hnally came to her senses and married Robert Mark Corbin on April 30, 1971. Six years later, on Thanksgiving, their son Robbie, a five pound, seven ounce ulittle turkey was born. He has since become the idol of the senior class, and is always affectionately known as lIThe Kid. When asked her feelings about the Class of '79, she is sure to say that she will miss them after they graduate because she has grown very close to them during her years at Parker. When the senior class is asked about their feelings toward Mrs. Corbin, they are certain to say that she has been one of the outstanding inliuences and inspirations in their lives. She has become a good friend to all of them, and has helped many with problems in and out of school. However, what most endears her to all of them is her love of humanity, her enthusiasm in the classroom, her stories about IIThe Kid, and of course, her famous UA-ha! A-ha! It is with great pride and a twinge of sadness in leaving, that we dedicate this CAVALCADE 1979 to our beloved Mrs. Corbin. Clockwise from top left: Senior portrait, a pretty babyl, Corbie and 'tThe Kid, as always, smiling in the classroom, her wedding day.

ur Turn 'Nb We are presenting CAVALCADE 1979 with a theme of progress. Progress has always been characteristic of past years, but this year it has been outstanding. The most obvious marks of progress are seen in the addition of new classrooms and a new girls' locker room. Plans are also underway for the construction of a new Fine Arts building to meet the needs of a varied curriculum and the future. Such an environment of progress has infiuenced the direction that the CAVALCADE has taken. We extend a special thanks to Col. and lVlrs. Dave Severance and Dr. and lVlrs. Lewis Palmer for making possible the full color senior section this year. A pat on the back goes to Lisa lVlumby for her innovative copy and relentless dedica- tion, and to Karen Hirr for her diligence in helping to raise money through advertising-the most ads sold in CAVALCADE history. We are especially grateful to our advisor, lVlrs. Spain, for her willingness to allow the changes that have been made in the CAVALCADE. Our co-editorship has left us with many memories: Summer planning sessions. . .
