ALJ After many years of teaching at Francis Parker, Miss Collisson is retiring. During her service here she has en- deared herself to hundreds of students and it will be strange indeed not to find her in the classroom or in front of the stage directing a school play. We shall miss her! For her sympathetic and understanding teaching, for her insistence on the highest academic standards of work, for her love of the beautiful and, most of all, for her loyalty and friendship, the Class of l96'l dedicates this ATHENE to her. Parker School. Each class plays its own par- ticular part in the history of the school, and no class can take the place of any previous group. lt is well that this is so, since each class has its own distinctive merits and accomplishments and will be re- membered for what it has contributed to the school during its span of years. Our heartiest wishes go to the class of l96l for a long and prosperous life ahead. We know that their abilities are strong and their desires are greater. We hope that they will use each to the fullest advantage and we know that the class will go down in Parker history as one of the top groups to be graduated from the school. My personal congratulations to each and every member of the class. DR. J. ROLLIN GRANT, HEADMASTER Bottom row, left to right: Mrs. Wilton M. Lewis, Mr. John B. Gibson, Mrs William R. INEZ DAVENPORT On May 28th, 1961, a memorial organ was dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Inez Davenport, who had contributed of her time, talents and energy to the music program of the Francis W. Parker School for a period of thirteen years. Those of us, both students and fellow staff members, were touched by her vivacious spirit, her uncompromising ability to produce the best in music and her friendly and captivating smile. None who knew her will 'ever forget her impact on their lives, and each time in coming years that we hear the "Lost Chord" or selections from the Messiah, or other numbers which were favorites of hers on the Baldwin memorial organ, we will be reminded of a life which was given to the best in music, the best in cooperation, and the best of personal standards. Truly, she was one of the real friends and foundations of Parker. 2' 77 W 'T' 4 . .
