A MOST IMPORTANT PART OF A LIFETIME. FILLED WITH ENTHUSIASM AND ANTICIPATION WE BEGAN OUR FOUR YEARS AT F.S.T.C. IN SEPTEMBER OF I952. OUR HEADS COVERED 'WITH PAPER BAGS WE WERE INITIATED BY THE LOFTY SENIORS AND FORMALLY IN- DUCTED INTO THE STUDENT BODY. THE PAPER BAGS WERE THEN REPLACED BY FRESHMAN "BEANIES" AND THE CONFU- SION AND BEWILDERMENT OF THE FIRST FEW WEEKS GRADUALLY CRYSTALLIZED INTO ORDER. AS THE FIRST YEAR PASSED WE BECAME IMBUED WITH THE FRAMINGHAM SPIRIT. OUR SOPHOMORE YEAR WAS A BUSY ONE. MUCH OF OUR EFFORT WAS EXPENDED IN PREP- ARATION FOR MAY DAY. OUR MAY QUEEN AND HER COURT ADDED BEAUTY AND CHARM TO "ONE WORLD" OUR PRESENTA- TION WHICH WAS BASED ON THE THEME OF WORLD UNITY. IT WAS DURING THIS YEAR THAT OUR HONOR SYSTEM CAME INTO EFFECT AFFORDING US AN OPPOR- TUNITY TO STRENGTHEN AND PROVE OUR PERSONAL INTEGRITY. WE WERE VERY PROUD OF THIS ADDITION TO THE HERITAGE OF FRAMINGHAM. AS JUNIORS WE BEGAN OUR SPECIALIZED STUDIES AND BECAME MORE AWARE OF THE CHAL- LENGE OF OUR CHOSEN PROFESSION. A NEW SURGE OF AMBITION AND ENTHU- SIASM SWEPT OVER US AS WE BEGAN TO DEFINE OUR GOALS MORE SPECIFICALLY. CLASS ROOM OBSERVATION AND STUDENT TEACHING EXPERIENCES HELPED US GAIN A PERSPECTIVE. KNOWLEDGE GAINED IN OUR CLASSES GAVE US NEW STRENGTH AND SECURITY. A SUCCESSFUL JUNIOR WEEK-END WAS A HIGH POINT OF THE SOCIAL ACTIVI- TIES OF THIS YEAR WHICH ALSO INCLUDED AN INFORMAL DANCE AND A STUNT NIGHT PERFORMANCE FOR WHICH WE WERE AWARDED HONORABLE MENTION. IN SEPTEMBER OF I955 WE DONNED THE TRADI- TIONAL ACADEMIC CAP AND GOWN. WE HAD COME FAR SINCE THE DAYS OF FRESHMAN INITIATION WHEN PAPER BAGS AND "BEANIES" COVERED OUR HEADS. SENIOR INVESTITURE, SENIOR CHAPEL SERV- ICES. CHRISTMAS CAROLING, OUR COM- MENCEMENT PROM, CLASS DAY WITH THE DAISY CHAIN AND GLEE CLUB CONCERT AND FINALLY GRADUATION WERE ALL PART OF THIS MEMORABLE YEAR. WE HAD PRE- PARED OURSELVES FOR WORTHWHILE AND REWARDING VOCATIONS. WE HAD FORMED LASTING FRIENDSHIPS. WE HAD GAINED AN APPRECIATION OF VALUES WHICH WOULD HELP TO DETERMINE OUR WAY OF LIFE. - . . . ., , , ,- - -.
