In taking the league crown the Mountaineers won 12 games while losing but 2 games. Following regular season play Frackville entered the Play-olfs against Hegins Township, winner of the South Schuylkill League, to decide the championship of Schuylkill County. Playing the game at Mahanoy Township Stadium on a muddy diamond Frackville was defeated by Hegins Township by a 1 to 0 score. Performing brillantly in defeat, the Frackville team made the only triple play in the history of baseball at Frack- ville High. Bill Cahill ball hawk centerftelder took the individual batting crown of the team with an average of 416 On the mound Joe Huth with a good fast ball and a sharp breaking curve was the leading hurler Since this was the 1ast Frackvllle High Team to perform under the tutorshlp of Charles Dunkleberger we doff our hats ln appreciation to a job well done by a swell coach te icher and fellow and also to the great baseball team of 45 t Ixl 69 1 ' s , K . .
