With such an inexhaustable labor supply one can have anything made locally for almost nothing, and Hong Kong's status as a free port means low prices on goods from throughout the world. But Hong Kong is more than just a bargain hunter's paradise, it is Thieves Market, the Star Ferry, the night clubs of Kowloon and the Wanchai, the peak tramway, the floating restaurants at Aberdeen, and the junks picking their way through the crowded harbor. A group of vol- unteers from the crew arranged the party, purchased gifts, and were standing on the quar- terdeck to greet the fifty youngsters when they boarded. The youngsters were from the Amy Hill Memorial Rooftop School in Kowloon. They were given a tour of the ship, ice cream and cookies, a gift from Santa and as a last minute surprise, entertainment by a Scottish singing group then appearing at the Hong Kong Hilton.
