Responsible for the latter are the two hard-working Postal Clerks shown on this page. They were on the helo deck for every Log Helo to send off mail and hopefully receive some. When we hit port they were the first ones ashore mailing the outgoing mail and picking up the incoming mail. Then long after liberty call they would stay aboard and sort letters so their shipmates could read their letters as soon as possible.
