f'- R DIVISIO R Division is made up of a wide variety of ratings because of the nature of work falling under' its responsibility. The majority of the people are HT's,4 a new rating which absorbed the previous ratings of Shipfitter and Damage Controlman. The division is rounded out with the Enginemen of A Gang and the Machinery Repairmen. r The HT's are charged with responsibility of maintaining all the installed and portable damage control gear aboard such that the FOX could successfully combat any battle damage that might occur. As a secondary function they are the ship's plumbers and keep our drains open for us. I' , The MR's are aboard to effect emergency repair work by manufacturing needed parts from stock carried onboard. They serve an added function engraving ship's plaques and cigarette lighters for presentation to visiting -dignitaries. And 'fA' ' Gang, under MMC Morrison, main- tains the air conditioners, fresh water systems, chill water and dry air systems for our sophis- ticated electronic gear and all the pumps aboard.
