ZITI-I DIVISIO Terrier missiles and terrier missile guidance systems are the primary concern of FOX's Fourth Division. The division is composed of missile gunner's mates and missile fire controltechnicians. The equip- ment that they work with is among the most expensive and complex in the Navy and almost every Fourth Division man has had extensive schooling to prepare him for his job on, FOX. From initial detection to ultimate disposition Fourth Division personnel are involved in all aspects of target processing and handling. Utilizing sophisti- cated search radar for long range surveillance then tracking assigned targets with precision fire control radar. Fourth Division personnel stand ready to deliver a powerful terrier punch whenever needed. The effectiveness of the division's performance was demonstrated by two direct hits during exercises while in WESTPAC.
