It is made of bronze, 32 feet high. The right hand pointing to the sky indicates the menace of the atomic bomb. The left arm extended horizontally is symbolic of peace. f Q Nagasaki, capital and largest city of Nagasaki perspective,western Kyushu, Japan, is the admini- strative, commercial and cultural 'nucleus of the perfecture. A port city, Nagasaki is located at the head of a narrow, deepcut bay at the meeting point of the Nomo and Nishisonogi peninsulas. The city is like an amphitheater in form, the crooked streets and tiered houses clinging to the hillsides that en- close the inner bay. Its main industries are coal mining and shipbuilding.
