Student Dffieers Learn Dules of Government MELVIN NAJARIAN President MARVIN BAXTER Vice President KAREN HEISINGER Secretary BONNIE KANDARIAN Treasurer A change in the Executive Council for this year was brought about by last year's revision of the Constitution Many positions, which previously had been elected ones, were changed to appointed positions. Dividing the office of Commissioner of Safety and Welfare into two separate offices by an amendment to the constitution, purchasing ci speed graphex camera for the use ofthe Litoria and Red- cat staffs, and revising the dance policy are just a few ofthe many things accomplished by this year's Executive Council. Many activities were sponsored by the Executive Council. ASB card sales, a Christmas din- ner and program, and a bonfire rally are a sample of these activities. 13

Still suffering under growing pains, but with interest and morale rising to an all-time high, the House ot Representatives met weekly to legislate for school improvements, policies, and to set up By-lows to govern the student body. Under the leadership ot Speaker Marvin Baxter and Clerk Sylvia Smith, the House steadily improved throughout both semesters, and student government held the interest ot a high percent- age ot the student body.
