Jeans and T-shirts were the most frequently worn by both guys and girls. ln cooler weather sweaters appeared, many of which were bulky. A popular sweater was the cowl with its large floppy neck. Boots often accompanied gauchos, a type of skirt with pant legs. These became more apparent as the year prog- ressed. Many times worn with vests. Another noticeable fashion trait of the season was the shortening of hair length by many. The wedge, a cut way above the collar, became a popular for girls. This was made famous by Dorthy l-lamil the Olympic ice skater. We also began to see the hair of the fashion conscious young men become shorter and groomed to the head. so 4 -f1:.igqMil,,i, top left: The tennis shoe was the most frequently worn shoe. They came in many different colors and makes. Desert boots and surfer sandals were worn by many. top right: Lorie Jones wears a colorful jumpsuit. Done uniquely in patchy and ribbon in patches and ribbons on denim. above: Polo shirts and jeans were found adorning many of the young gentlemen on campus, as worn here bottom left: Gauchos were the new by Brent La Flame' apparel addition to closets. l-lere they are worn by Cheryl Blatney and Sus- anne Presta with the tie shoes and T- shirts. l-lave you ever noticed the abundance of writing that abides in our school? It is perfectly clear that the authors of this grattitti need a place proper and fitting tor this type of expression. lt must be admitted that these young vvriters put both cleverness and feelings into their Hprojects and remembrancesf' but such places as bathroom vvalls and lockers really are not very appropriate places. One idea that has been tossed around a bit is to put big tablets of butcher paper in the bathrooms or hang chalk boards armed with an ample supply of chalk on the vvalls.
