Present d At FVI-IS Besides the excellent acting, the play boasted an exceptional stage crew. Mr. Wood, drama teacher and director of the play, began work on this production at the conclusion of last year. Throughout the summer, students worked on set design and costumes, coming up with some of the most elaborate props ever used by a high school drama department. Student Director Becky Bent was proud that hers was the longest-running play in FV's history. Another record set by this performance. was that every presentation was made to a capacity crowd. Romeo and Julietw was truly indicative of exceptional talent and ingenuity. One of the many touching balcony scenes. Tybalt fMike Marooneyj speaks with Lady Capulet tKathy Pettitj. Wherefore art thou, Romeo! We have all read these lines for ourselves in our Freshman English Classes, but this year students had a chance to see Shakespeare's immortal characters brought to life. Fountain Valley's Drama Department presented Romeo and Julietl' in the school's theater-in-the-round. The love of Romeo for Juliet and her love for him were portrayed dramatically against the background of their feuding families. The tragic ending brought home the need of love for fellow man. Steve Marion and Christy Smith were the two lovers who along with their supporting cast treated the audience to one of FVHS's finest productions.
