Final Record: 3-6-3 Top Individual Record: No. 1 Singles player Steve Hewgley, 8-5. Coach Tom Petersen is contemplating the results at Districts. Next year will be a building season because there are four seniors that will not be returning. Coach Petersen feels that he will have a better season next year, and with a lot of hard work and concentration it can be done. Coach Petersen spent many hours with the team from summer recreational tennis until the tennis season began at school. Coach Petersen was a real asset to the team.

TROIAN GYMNASTICS TEAM GETS Gymnastics State Qualifiers Diane Ortega, Carla Orr, Lorraine Morgan, Rachelle Bailey, Debbie Ruckmich, Susie Dockum, Kelly Smoote and Manager Renee Hansen. The Trojan Gymnastics team can only be described as Fired-up. The team set their goals early in the season, and the Trojans were working under a new coach, Lori Meyers. Their main goal was to WIN and to improve their skills. The Trojans did exactly that. Six members of the gymnastics team qualified for state. State was held at Buena Vista on Nov. 3, 1979. At the closing of the gymnastics meet, they ranked 8th out of 25 teams. This was a good achievement considering the other teams had ten to twelve members competing.
