The Trojan team breaks through the banner of luck the cheerleaders have painted. P Marcus Fields struggles to gain extra yards. The Trojans' seniors were the leaders of the team, showing skill and ability that the coaches never had seen before. Most of them have played together for the last three years. The ability to play as a team led them into three State playoff games and almost to the State Championship. The 9-3 record marked Coach Smith's career best. The Trojans second place finish earned them a berth in the sixteen team Colorado Class AA State Football Tournament. To get the berth in the playoffs, the Trojans had to win their game against Rye, after just being defeated by Iohn Mall in a very poor sportsmanship game by the fans and a very strange power outage. But the Trojans came back showing they could not be kept down. Bouncing back and beating Rye 40-0, the defense was devastating letting Rye have only 49 yards total offense and 108 yards lost by opponents.
