OCTOBER 6-Another tough game as we tie Ashland 13-13. 10-13-Hi-Y initiation starts out with a bang. 13-The Red and Black Journal makes its big debut. We whip Tiffin 34-6. 20-Another assembly! This time the Hallelujah Quartet. Defiance falls be- fore us 32-6. 23-This is the life! General Motors gives us a fine assembly. 24-28-Now it's the girls' turn as Hi Chi Phi Initiation begins. 26-Woodward beats us 14-7. 27-We take a much-appreciated vacation while the teachers trek to Toledo. 29-The folks take over our seats for Parents' Night. NOVEMBER 1-Magazine campaign begins-new prizes galore! 3-The rain didn't stop us from beating Bowling Green 45-6. 8--The Redmen conquer THOSE Trojans 7-0! Whatta Game! 11-Our gym turns into a roller-rink for an assembly. 15-Magazine Campaign tops the goalg only because of the tireless efforts of the Senior Class!? 17-The whole school combines its forces to put on "Room Service." 22-Thanksgiving Assembly. The start of a Wonderful vacation. Mother Nature gives us a hand with some nice snow. 28-The Varsity-Alumni game with the Varsity taking the honors. DECEMBER 5-Macomber treats her hosts roughly by winning 66-58. 9-We almost take Mansfield, but they win 51-49. 14-The Annual Assembly turns out to be a most dramatic production. 15-The Little Giants outpoint us 69-57. 18-The Christmas issue of the Red and Black comes o-ut. 21-First Annual Deadline. A grad- uate of Miami University, Small brought with him the T-Formation, which the Redmen took a liking to and after three games of experimentation they proved to be a tough team to beat. The most out- standing game of the year was the Nov. llth tilt in which the Redmen gained state-wide attention by upsetting the highly touted Findlay Trojans on the latter's home field, 7-O! It was the first year on the varsity for Captain Jim Crow and he certainly lost no time in making himself heard from. Jim along with Jimmy John- son, halfback, made the All-Buckeye team.
