Slje ourglass SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS IVAN MAURER President ROGER HILL Vice-President PAT MYERS JANET FAST LARRY BASINGER Secretary Girls ' Treasurer Boys ' Treasurer Senior Class Flower The members of the class of 1943 are looking forward to a larger, more challenging world after four years of educational opportunities intended to prepare them for the future. Now they must step from the position of student to the even greater responsibility of citizenship. The Seniors have proved themselves worthy of the esteem with which they have been re- garded by those about them. They have ex- hibited laudable skill and efficiency in the execution of their various capacities as leaders of the student body, heads of publications and athletic organizations, and officers of clubs. It is the hope of those whom they leave behind that, having cooperated so whole- heartedly with our school spirit, and having contributed so much toward upholding the fine ideals of Fostoria High School, they will continue to keep alive its memories and contacts in later years. 22

hr H mtrqlass SENIOR CLASS POEM THE HOURGLASS -Commeiiceienl 1943 Silently, Time has glided through Without our really knowing; Now only a iew precious sands remain To remirid us of its going. Youth must soon a challenge meet. That leaves 7io place for sorrow; As each grain passes through the glass. Our eyes turn to the Morrow. Someday we shall smile through tears, Recalling those we coidd not hide. As the -final strains of Ahna Mater Gathered strength, then sloivly died. The sands are now ru7ining very loiv; Only a few more grains remain .... With sad, yet eager hands we wait. To tip the glass again. Janet Fast 21
