la 'Sigel f1?2!ffQ,Jl'tj YWHSZQQLLW SOPHOMORE5 After a three months rest durmg the summer of 1915 we returned to school wxth bxams well rusted from lack of use and ready to take upthedutles ed much pralse for our good work along thls lnne and buzlt up a regxon ot No man s land between us and our new brothers and sxsters Durxng tlus year the soclal s1de of our nature began to show ntself and we were very pleas antly entertanned by a few of our fellow classmates at a masquerade ball at the Marquette Although most of the gxrls may have lumped durmg the even mg the boys were the ones to favor thexr stxlts by lxmplng the tollowmg d xy Then ah' sad fate' when the moon led us astru by nts sentrmenttl charms to a moonlxght hay rack party lhe roll call on the followxn 1 morn mg however showed full attendance so All 1s well that ends well I do not wnsh to enumerate too many of our vnrtues but one more rs qulte essentmal our unparalled bravery To find oneself suddenly smttmg nn a great hall rn utter darkness 15 quxte shock enough to the normal heart but to hear a shrxll voice plerce the stxllness wxth Turn on those lxghts you cowards rs almost enough to frrghten even us However we soon recovered realmzxng that nt was only the affrlghted cry of one of the members of the class of 16 No perm an ent 1n1ury resulted JUNIORB We fmally landed on the shore of an eventful and enjoyable ye mr wlth more sense than money But thls handmcap was wlth tactful hand very easnly placed rn the wood box of our worrxes 1 jxtney carnival or what would be more approprlately named a rolhckxng round of tun filled our treasury wrth the much coveted preclous metals Let no one ever fool you mto to be 1lCVll'lg there rs no fun 1n hard manu al labor Ask any ot the membt rs of the class of 18 and they wxll tell you that IS a questmon wnth them whether they or those who attended the affaxr had the more fun But there' how could any one expect such a jolly good class as that of 18 to do anythmg tut enjoy enther work or play' By passmg unto our thmrd year of hxgh school we had also thoroughly lnltxated ourselves mto football and lts w1les Daddy handed out many quarter dollar for us to go and see our boys help take the bxg end of the score For not once dld we do otherwlse What was the result?
