The game ended with Evans and Roberts being the greatest ground gainers for the Dam City aggregation. Score Ft Madison 19 Keokuk 0 Line up Phelan and Schaxle end Gilham and Wayland tack les Funk and Smith guards Marsh c Niggemeyer quarter Abel and Kirkhuff halves Capt Ekins fullback On October 28 the fast Milton team clme to town with the rec ord of being undefeated This game was a combination of a tiack meet and a foot ball game w1th Abel Ekins Kirkhuff and Johnson the latter of Milton one of the fastest sprinters in Iona doing the trackwork This game was one of the cleanest and fastest ever played on the local gridiron Capt Ekms set an esample for his team by making the 1n1t1al touchdown and kicking goal Kukhuif lntercepted a pass and raised the score to 13 points The second half started with Ft Madison stronger than eyer bemg reinforced by Abel our star left half who had been kept out of the game on account of inguries He soon became the hero Suddenly a streak was seen dashing down the field towards Milton s goal A hundred volces rose high into the air and as the runner covered with dust and dirt deposited himself underneath the goal posts another great shriek rent the air It vs as Abel who celebrated his entrance 1HtO the game with a spectacular 50 yard run to a touch down In the last half Capt Eklns was imured and was forced to leave the game Woods was sent in to take his place at full and played a great game Hatch made two more touchdowns and the game ended with the score of Ft Madison 33 Milton 0 LINE UP Ft Mad1SOH M1lt0H Marsh Mlller Smith Sexton Funk r Randolph Wayland Price Poepsel r e Be Young Russell N iggemeyer Johnson Kxrkhuff Morgan Phelan Snodgrass Ekms fCaptJ f b Kays Referee Noelke of Burlmgton Umpire-Cook ' : .
