GILBERT C0 Commander Gilbert was born in Orange, New Jersey on 30 September 1945, the son of Arthur W. and Loretta M. fConnorD Gilbert. He graduated from Orange High School in 1963 and subsequently entered the U.S. Naval Academy where he was commissioned 7 June 1967. Following commissioning he served in USS REPER- TUS CDD-8511 as Gunnery Assistant. As part of the Na- val Advisory Group, USMACV he was the Senior Advi- sor, Coast Group 28 in Phan Thiet RVN from January 1970 until January 1971. In March 1972 he attended the Naval Destroyer School Department Head course and served as Weapons Department Head on USS REASON- ER KDE-10631 from October 1972 until February 1975 and Chief Engineer on USS LEAHY QCG-161 from August 1977 to December 1979. Commander Gilbert's most re- cent tour at sea was Executive Officer, USS THOMAS- 'D 'Y aW' WWF? 'ff '7-73 if TON QLSD-zap from April 1980 until November 1981. Commander Gilbert has had shore duty with Fleet Training Group, Pacific as a weapons observer and Fleet ASW Training Center, Pacific as an instructor. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration earned in 1977 as part of Pepperdine University's Executive pro- gram. His most recent tour of duty was as Enlisted Com- munity Manager for Combat Systems Ratings in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Commander Gilbert's personal awards include the Bronze Star with Combat V , Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V , and numerous service and campaign ribbons. Commander Gilbert is married to the former Carol Fenton of San Diego, CA. They have three children: Za- chary, Garret and Aaron. R RAYMO C0 . DUFFIC Commander Raymond A. Duffy from Huntington Sta- tion, New York, received his commission in May 1970 through the NROTC program at Villanova University. Commander Duffy served aboard USS AMERICA QCV-661, USS NASHVILLE QLPD-131, as Operations Offi- cer on USS MERIDETH QDD-8901 and as Chief Engineer on board USS SPARTANBURG COUNTY CLST-11921. While ashore Commander Duffy served as Officer in Charge at the Department of Naval Service Massachu- setts Maritime Academy. Before reporting to FORT FISHER he was Material logistics Officer for Command- er Amphibious Squadron Four.
