This is the pledge taken by all Girl Reserves. Their purpose is expressed as a desire To face life squarely and to find and give the best. The Girl Reserves are the younger members of the Y. W. C. A., who accept an ideal and strive to attain it. They consider themselves as a re- serve force preparing for positions of leadership and responsibility in their homes, schools, churches and communities. Any girl who desires to live up to the Girl Reserve standards may be a member of this organization. The beneficial effect of the organization is shown by the fine type of young women who participate in Y. W. C. Ardis Tilton Sponsor- .. ..................,...... Miss Catren The Big Sister organization consists of Senior girls who have been active in Round Table and have passing grades in their school work. The organization was started in 1920, and has been very active ever since. Miss Catren is sponsor of the organization, and the Vice President of Round Table is chairman of the Big Sisters. Ardis Tilton was chairman during the past year. Before school starts. the Big Sisters have a meeting and choose their little sisters. A few days before the opening of school each big sister calls on her little sisters. The first day of school she shows them around, helps them with their schedules and introduces them to other girls. In the fall there is the little sister tea, at which the new girls are entertained by the big sisters in their own homes. All during the year the big sisters are supposed to help their little sisters and make the first year of high school easier for them. Each new girl who enters the school during the year is given a big sister, and in this way she becomes acquaint- ed with other girls, the teachers, and the school. Good counsel has no price.
