He died suddenly from a heart attack on November 23, 1954 at St. Clare Hospital. A junior in high school, Bill was the son of Mrs. George Molnar. and of the late Edwin C. Allen. Bill's life was typical of that of any American hov. His likes and dislikes were as yours and mine. He had a great deal of enthusiasm for haskethallA-for which his height gave him added ability. As he lived. he planned for his future. His one great desire was to receive a high school diploma: he wanted also to become a coach. The death of "Bones"-as unexpected as it was-might serve as an important lesson to he learned-and practiced. So live that you need not be afraid of tomorrow nor ashamed of yesterday. It is the qualitv of life, not its length. that counts. The Class of '54 presenting the Senior play "Curtain Going Up." The Fort Benton High School has followed the trend of other high schools in the nation by increasing the number of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The goal of the numerous activities is to reach each student and give him an opportunity to express himself athletically, musically, artisti- cally, dramatically, or mechanically. Cluhs give the students a chance to meet out of class and work together. Activities such as dances. hayrides and food sales are sponsored hy different cluhs throughout the year. 51 "Tl-IE XNNER WILLYH The junior class play, Wfhe Inner Willyf, directed by Duane Hoynes, was attended by a capacity crowd on April 2 at 8 o'clock in the high school auditorium. Through the hard work of the juniors all the tickets were sold and seats were put in the aisles to accommodate all the people. Wfhe Inner Willy" was very clever and had an unusual plot. Willy had been brought up by his three maiden aunts and tried to please them all. Willy,s conscience, Inner Willy, did his best to try to make Willy assert himself. The cast was well selected and all did a very good job. Bouquets go to Mr. Hoynes for directing the play, the make up crew, the stage crew, and all the juniors for their efficient advance ticket sale and their co-operation on the production. The River Press has pulilished all hut three issues of the "Pioneer.,' The senior class puts out the yearlmook every year. They start planning for their hook early in the school year. One of the first things is the organization of the editorial staff and the committees in which every senior is to participate. In 1950 many new features were added to the "Pioneer," For the first time hard covers were used. and the first 340 suhscrihers received these annuals. Another feature was the use of pictures of the elementary grades. A new type of picture layout added interest. and emphasized a trend towards increaee picture area in the yearhooks. A new system of allowing juniors to work on the yearbook was adopted in 1952. This system benefited the juniors by giving them experience on annual work which they will need in preparing their own annual.
