Miss Carol Jean Hepner, the representative from the seventh grade, was crowned “Queen Ceres V by principal, J. P. Judy. Miss Hepner chose as her escort Douglas Wolford, also of the seventh grade. A beautiful orchid attached to the scepter was presented to the Queen by Miss Barbara Brant, last year’s queen. Announcer for the coronation was Miss Carolyn Sampson. They publish the school paper, “The Falashbian,” and also write the highlights for Fort Ashby High School. This column appears weekly in the Cumberland Sunday Times.
